  • Lightbulb The student must be able to recall quickly or with automaticity, related multiplication and division facts without help of manipulatives, pictures, models, etc.

Example

  • Read the following problem situations (word problems) and use paper if necessary.
     
    a) Lupe plays the French horn in her school band. She wants to be the first chair horn player, but knows that she will have to practice several hours each week to make it happen. If Lupe practices 7 hours a week, how many hours will she practice in 6 weeks?

    b) Jack worked for his dad for 4 hours each day and earned a total of $28. How many days did Jack work?
